By taking the first steps to establish a Network Initiative, you’re joining a global movement dedicated to regenerating the Earth through innovative projects and collaborative action. This guide will walk you through the journey of becoming an officially recognized Network Initiative within our network society.

Introduction

🌿 What is a ReFi DAO Network Initiative?

Network Initiatives are autonomous projects, guilds, or working groups that align with the mission, vision, values, and identity of ReFi DAO - as described in ReFi DAO Network - Structure, Roles, & Governance.

These initiatives operate independently with their own teams, resources, and structures, while maintaining coherence with the broader network’s goals and brand identity. They may also receive financial support and guidance from ReFi DAO Global.

• ReFi Podcast - A media initiative that shares knowledge, interviews, and insights from the regenerative finance space.
• ReFi EBF - Initiative focused on the Ecological Benefits Framework (EBF) and fostering partnerships within the ReFi community.
• Prosperity Passport Development - Development of a product to support Web3 identity in the Celo and ReFi economy.

🪷 Core Principles & Responsibilities of Network Initiatives

• Mission Alignment: Ensure activities and projects remain aligned with ReFi DAO’s mission, vision, and values, contributing meaningfully to the overall success and visibility of the network.
• Collaborative Autonomy: Operate with a degree of independence, managing resources and operations in a way that reflects the initiative’s unique focus, while maintaining open communication with ReFi DAO Global. Initiatives may choose to collaborate closely with ReFi DAO Global on shared goals or strategies when appropriate.
• Governance Participation: Primarily engage in ReFi DAO’s governance processes when decisions directly impact the initiative’s activities. However, initiatives also have the opportunity to provide input on broader strategic decisions and participate in DAO-wide votes if they choose, ensuring their voice is heard in shaping the future of the network.
• Transparency and Accountability: Maintain transparency in financial and operational reporting, including sharing periodic updates on progress, impact, and resource utilization with ReFi DAO Global to ensure alignment and mutual accountability across the network.
• Knowledge Sharing and Contribution: Share learnings, best practices, and innovations with the broader ReFi DAO community to foster collective growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the network.

Onboarding Steps

1️⃣

Become a Network Member: Sign the Community Covenant & Join ReFi DAO’s Garden

The ReFi DAO Community Covenant is our foundational document that outlines our shared principles, values, and commitments. By signing the covenant and joining ReFi DAO Community Garden and, you affirm your alignment with our collective mission and get to become a Network Member.

1. Connect your wallet to the Gardens platform;
2. Click on “Join”; you will need 1 USDGLO on Celo as a Registration Stake;
3. Review and sign the Community Covenant to join the Garden.

Apply to Join ReFi DAO Global as a Core Contributor

Network Initiative Leaders must be contributors to ReFi DAO Global, bringing their expertise to support the network’s coordination while leading their specialized initiative.

Submit a proposal for your Network Initiative on Gardens

Gardens enables communities to allocate resources through conviction voting. ReFi DAO has established a dedicated Network Initiatives Pool - to participate:

1. Join ReFi DAO’s Community - when registering on Gardens, you’ll need to sign the community Covenant and stake some $USDGLO to activate your voting rights

2. Create a Proposal in the Network Initiatives Pool requesting the amount of funds needed to launch your Initiative.

   • Include:
     • Executive Summary of your Initiative concept
     • Team bios with relevant skills, experience, and prior work
     • Project Deliverables, cost breakdown, and timeframe for completion
     • Alignment Statement explaining how your Initiative advances ReFi DAO’s mission
     • Collaboration Commitment outlining how you’ll engage with the network
     • Impact Plan with specific metrics and reporting schedules
     • Any relevant links, demos, or resources to help voters understand your Initiative

3. Engage with the Community through Gardens discussions and ReFi DAO channels to build support for your proposal

Eligibility to vote: Open to wallets lvl 3 and above - see ReFi DAO Contribution Points - on the allowlist. New addresses are added regularly; if you’re a member and your wallet isn’t yet included, please contact us to be added.

💡 Note: The Network Initiatives Pool is designed to fund new initiatives or specific partnership initiatives within the ReFi DAO network (e.g., collaboration projects with a Local Node). This funding is not intended to support the development of your existing ReFi project but rather to establish new initiatives that will operate as part of the ReFi DAO ecosystem.

Receive Your Role and Hat NFT

Once accepted, you’ll be formally welcomed to your role:

• (a) Role Assignment: A Core Steward will mint your Hat NFT representing your new role
• (b) Check your Hat on Hats Protocol 👒
  • Your Hat NFT serves as an on-chain credential
  • Active for six months and renewable based on participation
  • Provides access to contributor resources and governance
• (c) Verify your role on Guild.xyz: explore available resources and channels

Develop your Initiative’s unique brand and social channels

Build your Local Node’s identity and community presence while maintaining alignment with ReFi DAO’s guidelines, mission and values.

• **(a) Access branding templates & customize 👉** Onboarding & Roles on Guild.xyz
  • Go through the process on Guild.xyz to mint the Local Node Leader Hat and get access to gated resources and channels
  • Fork and customize ReFi DAO branding templates for your Local Node
  • Ensure visual consistency while reflecting your local identity
